The diamond and specialty minerals stocks box score on Monday was a bright 97-78-125 as the TSX Venture Exchange rose eight points to 742 and polished diamond prices rose 0.15 per cent. Ken MacNeill's Star Diamond Corp. (DIAM) closed unchanged at 20.5 cents on 261,000 shares. The wait goes on for the results of the third of 10 trench cutter holes dug last year into the Star pipe in central Saskatchewan. The diamond counts should be available soon if the company and Rio Tinto are to meet the end-of-year target for all 10 tests.
Altius Minerals Corp. (ALS) lost one cent to $10.60 on 76,000 shares. The company has been quiet about its Lynx diamond project in Northern Manitoba, but that could change when its not-yet-taken-public diamond subsidiary, Adia Resources Inc., receives the microdiamond counts from drill core acquired this winter at the property, 25 kilometres southeast of Oxford House. Adia drilled seven holes in its latest program, four on the Eastern Bay outcrop and three on the Western Bay zone.
