Emin Cohen, a "predatory telemarketer" jailed in the United States for pressuring seniors and others to buy shares of former Canadian Securities Exchange listing Intelligent Content Enterprises Ltd., has joined the ranks of inmates seeking to leave jail on COVID-19 grounds. Mr. Cohen, 36, claims to suffer from asthma and hypertension. He says that these conditions, combined with the possibility of contracting COVID-19 in jail, warrant his release on compassionate grounds.

Mr. Cohen is serving a two-year jail term for his part in a New York boiler room that touted Intelligent Content and four other thinly traded companies. According to prosecutors, he told prospective investors that Intelligent Content's backers included Disney. His victims included one senior who bought $800,000 worth of Intelligent Content shares, the government said. (All figures are in U.S. dollars.)

The COVID-19 release request is contained in a letter to the judge filed in federal court in New York on May 12, 2020. The letter explains how being in jail represents an "extraordinary risk" to Mr. Cohen. He suffers from hypertension which, according to the letter, carries a higher risk of serious illness and death when combined with COVID-19. On top of that, he suffers from asthma. While the condition is comparatively well controlled, it is still something that represents an additional risk of death, he contends.

I wonder if the victims Cohen sodomized care whether he gets COVID, dies, or about the "dire" conditions at FCI Danbury. He only got two years? He should shut up and take his medicine. He got off cheap.
