The diamond and specialty minerals stocks box score for Thursday was a rousing 91-66-121. The TSX Venture Exchange gained nine points to 788 while polished diamond prices edged upward. Dermot Desmond and David Whittle's Mountain Province Diamonds Inc. (MPVD) dropped four cents to $3.46 on 181,000 shares. The company is seeking to refinance its increasingly short-term debt over a five-year term.

Bruce Counts is again running a public diamond exploration company. Consolidated Westview Resource Corp. has completed its reverse takeover (RTO) of his private company and it is now trading under that name, Lithoquest Diamonds Ltd. (LDI), which gained 15 cents to 42 cents on 458,000 shares on its first day of trading Wednesday; today it closed unchanged at 42 cents on 36,000 shares. The company had to sell nine million shares at 27 cents as a condition of the RTO, and it easily surpassed that hurdle, selling nearly 19 million shares, raising $5.12-million for exploration expenses and working capital.
