The diamond and specialty minerals stocks box score for Tuesday was a mediocre 75-89-114. The TSX Venture Exchange fell three points to 791 while polished diamond prices rose 0.1 per cent. Lukas Lundin's Lucara Diamond Corp. (LUC) added two cents to $2.48 on 2.06 million shares. The stock has been a busy trader for the past week, but has moved little.
Patrick Power's Arctic Star Exploration Corp. (ADD), up one-half cent to 14.5 cents on 161,000 shares, has replenished its coffers and is starting work on its Timantti diamond project in central Finland. The company proposed the sale of 15 million shares at 10 cents in late October and it sold 9.65 million of them within a few days. Nearly four weeks have passed since then -- enough time for the company to rejig its management -- and it has now sold 7.28 million more shares. That is a total of 16.9 million shares in all, nearly two million more than planned, giving Arctic Star $1.7-million to begin work on Timantti.
